Okay, so I've been very lax in posting around these parts. I haven't been idle, only busy elsewhere.
I've finally stopped posting at the Blogger address. It's just too annoying to have to post in both places. Eventually, I'll get around to moving things from there over here, but that's going to take forever and a year because I can't figure an easy way to import from Blogger (other sites, yes; Blogger, no). I'm going to let it rest at that. I'm not even going to be disappointed in myself for not having already moved everything over here.
Anyhow, thinking about the new year. I've heard from several people that 2011 wasn't all that hot. I don't feel the same, but when I think back over the previous year, I cannot think of a way to characterize it all at once. I was tired. That's what I remember. I'll continue working on it that in this coming year.
Overall, I'd like to make some small changes, or, rather, continue to make them in this new year. I've never been good with big change and I don't really do the whole resolution thing. I once thought I could handle monthly resolutions, but I honestly don't remember what happened with that idea.
I think, along with focusing on what I'd like to change about myself and my life, I need to spend more time focusing on what's going on right now and what I like about it.
Number one? Walking. We've kept up with our walking, which is both meditation and exercise for me at once. Walking, for me, is essential. We walked earlier this evening (our last family walk of 2011), and by the end of our walk, we were all thoroughly chilled, but so were our high tempers and low moods that reigned before we set out. As we were on our outing, Cardo turned to me and said, "We're really boring." That may be, and we tend to joke about it a lot, but, really, I don't mind being boring. I like that we lead a pretty quiet life. It suits us.
So, as 2012 progresses, I'll continue to try to focus on what's happening and worthy of my attention as I'm living it.
A healthy and peaceful new year to all.
